If the motor is brushed mechanically commutated, it is better to ensure that the output voltage current of the controller are higher than equal to the rated voltage current of the motor. The parameters of voltage current are equal to greater than the rated value of the motor, the problem of Hall signal configuration should be considered.

Of course, the voltage withstand of the controller is higher than the higher voltage of the battery. The nominal voltage of the battery is the higher voltage. Generally, the higher voltage is about 1.2 times of the nominal voltage. For example, for a 60 volt battery, the full charge may go to 72 volts.

The higher the voltage of the motor, the higher the efficiency of the motor, but the voltage is too high, the insulation requirements of the wire the controller are more strict, the battery management is also difficult, it is easy to have safety problems.

The larger the controller power, the better. But if the motor power is smaller the battery capacity is insufficient, the larger the controller you buy, it's a waste virtually, which results in a big horse pulling a small car, the lighter the electric car is, the better. It's necessarily a good thing that the controller is too large.

The controller has over-voltage under voltage protection functions, which need to be configured considering the high low voltage of the battery, otherwise it may cause the protection before the battery is discharged, the battery voltage is too high to cause no output.
